When I was a little girl, I had this poster on my wall. It was a beautifully detailed illustration of a secret mouse house, intricately carved into the inside of a big tree trunk, complete with tiny mice characters, teeny tiny bedrooms, living spaces and furniture. I loved it so much and suspect it was big in the 80's! Does anyone else know the image? I spent hours of my youth dreaming of transporting myself into that scene so I could explore every nook and cranny in that amazing home. Now I learn it is a famous illustration for Brambly Hedge by illustrator and author Jill Barklem... and I still love it!
When we came across the Dolls House illustration by La Casita de Wendy, the Spanish fashion house we've had the extreme fortune of working with in previous years to create our Little Village and Naif Wonder Tents, we fell head over heels with it. The mid-century home decor with a palette of peaches and sky blues is just so hip, and every room tells a story, celebrating the beauty of relationships and everyday life. It was the perfect imagery to stimulate rich ideas and imaginary play and so, the collaboration was born!
Who better than to shoot our amazing Dolls House Wonder Tent than the queen of dolls houses herself, Linzi Macdonald, aka @litte.linzi of Instagram fame! Linzi is a phenomenally talented creative who set out to renovate her daughter's dolls house, and found herself a huge collection of devoted fans along the way! Her knack for making miniature versions of all of today's coolest home wares and furniture is nothing short of amazing. This is, without a doubt, the hippest dolls house in the world. And most remarkably, once she's satisfied that the reno is complete, Linzi is going to put the dolls house up for auction and donate the proceeds to a family in need. Hooray for people like you Linzi! Head to her Instagram page for all the details.
Now sit back, relax, and take a trip down memory lane. The limited edition Dolls House Wonder Tent is available now. Dress it up with Dolls House cushions, or treat Mama to a clutch for all her bits and pieces.
With thanks to La Casita de Wendy and Linzi Macdonald
