WE HAVE ARRIVEDWords can't express how exciting this is. We've flown in planes, sailed the seas, hailed cabs, rode buses and walked many miles along the path to this new chapter in the story of Such Great Heights. As a family, each of us have had moments of feeling nervous, apprehensive, overwhelmed, hopeful, exicted, and elated!!For the most part, the girls have managed these big emotions with such grace and resilience - we are incredibly proud of them. Now it's time for Such Great Heights to shine, and we can't wait to release our new range in the coming weeks. Thanks to you all for following along xx
San Francisco... You had us at 'hello'.Have you ever had that feeling when you visit a new place for the first time and it feels so easy, so livable and so outrageously beautiful, that you would happily stay there forever? Well, San Fran felt exactly like that for us.We will be back, you can be sure of that.
Beautiful people, sleeping dogs, coconuts, pink coral, sea snakes and exquisite sea shells were amongst the many treasures that we discovered in Pago Pago, American Samoa.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain.
Could there possibly be a more apt quote for this occasion?
Tomorrow, our family sets sail for the journey of a lifetime. We are heading to the USA in pursuit of adventure. Exploring. Creating new products and opportunities alongside the artists, woodworkers, printers and sewers who are an integral part of our team. Forging new relationships and cementing existing ones. Travelling at our own pace, moving along as it suits us, but calling Upstate New York home base.
But first, our belated honeymoon awaits. We are cruising from Sydney to San Francisco. 3.5 weeks of sailing, with a few island stops sprinkled along the way. Oh, the bliss!
No cooking or cleaning for 24 days. Putting work aside. Just truly being with our girls, not trying to juggle a million distractions. As parents of young children, this is a luxury we've not ever really had, certainly not for an extended period of time. We intend to spend it like a health retreat, making up for putting our bodies through the ringer these last few intensely busy years. And we'll snap photos, because we are visual fiends and capturing beautiful moments in time is just what we do.
But now, we are out of time! It's exciting, it's overwhelming. The packing list is extreme - summer through to winter all in one suitcase!
Can't wait to follow and nourish the passions within each other.
Thanks so much from us both for listening thus far. We can't wait to share the next Such Great Heights chapter with you.
